OVERVIEW \ MODERN DESIGN HOME STARTING AT $1550

Once an old ruin at the end of a dirt road, this stunning architectural home is completely encompassed by nature, nestled among hundreds of olive, almond and cork trees. Designed by Pedro Dominigos, the same architect as their sister house Casa Agostos, the modern home is dominated by strong lines, white walls and concrete, creating a bold effect in the natural environment. The 4 bedroom home opens itself to its surroundings through the use of large windows and doors, rooftop terraces, multiple patios and a large courtyard that contains a semi-enclosed pool. Local materials were sourced for the handmade doors, windows and shutters, in addition to the use of natural stone for the pool, kitchen counters, sinks and benches. Located in the Algarve, known for the Ria Formosa nature reserve, beaches, wine and ceramics, there are many attractions to make it a perfect destination for a holiday with friends or family.

ROOMS

Modern and minimalist, the white walls and concrete floors create a neutral palette, with the addition of wood and textiles to add warmth. The kitchen features a large island for cooking and meal prep, while the outdoor patio space is strategically placed nearby for enjoying meals outside. On the upper level, the living room connects with the back garden and a huge rooftop terrace with stunning views of the surrounding nature reserve.

The four bedrooms are simple yet refined in design and decor featuring large pendulum doors that also act as windows.

HIGHLIGHTs

With multiple terraces, patios and decks on both levels, you'll be able to find your optimal resting or dining place at any time of day! Lounge by the pool or enjoy one of the upper decks for a sundowner, the possibilities are endless.

The house integrated many eco and sustainable practices such as using solar energy to heat the water, using high grade insulation to heat/cool naturally, and encouraging native plant growth by using Sigmetum, botanical architects based in Lisbon, that collect wild seeds and grow them in their nursery.

Other design features include the local ceramics, pottery and blankets that were made locally by Casa Cubista in Olhao, as well as the fireplace which was designed in 1965 by architects Alfonso Mila and Federico Correa.
