Nestled in the lush Mayan jungle alongside the azul Caribbean Sea near the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is the Tulum Treehouse, a home that is sustainable in nature and minimalist in design. Working from an existing structure, it was a collective effort between international designers such as Annabell Kutucu, local artisans and Tulum-based Co-Lab Design Office. The result is a luxurious 5 bedroom jungle hideaway that extends to multiple outdoor spaces, seamlessly merging with its surroundings. A striking mix of hard geometric lines of sand-colored polished concrete, the terraces and open-air spaces create an immersive jungle experience for the guests. The interiors are minimal, raw and organic, and inspire the change in the pace of life and invite one to reset, to create space, to nurture silence and to reconnect.
ROOMS
CO-LAB worked with designer and stylist Annabell Kutucu on the interiors, which heavily feature products by local craftspeople including carpenters, basket weavers, ceramicists La Chicharra and textile label Caravana. You'll also find Oaxacan rugs, and furniture sourced from Mexico City’s weekend antique market.
Each of the 5 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and feature a private terrace, outdoor shower, hammock or seating area.
The standalone Garden Suite offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as wooden decks and terraces spanning 125 square meters.

The rooftop terrace has a beautiful 20 person dining area, encouraging guests to appreciate a long slow meal together.
The home relies on a full solar setup as the main source of energy. It also maintains a water treatment and irrigation system that helps to preserve the fragile ecosystem that is the Tulum jungle and mangrove area. Additional sustainable features include building furniture from waste wood and collaborating with local artisans and craftspeople, using materials local to the area.
