Superbly located in the historic center of Salerno, this charming apartment is set in an ancient Convent that was converted into a noble residence in 1600. Through its restoration, thick wall plastering and frescoes dating back to the 17th century were discovered, and together with the prominent high wooden beam ceilings and spectacular views extending to the sea, create a one of a kind space steeped in history. The unique room is beautifully furnished with hand-made furniture and contemporary pieces that compliment the open apartment. The surrounding cobblestone streets are lined with restaurants, cafes and shops, creating a lively atmosphere right outside your door. It is the perfect launching point to explore the infamous Amalfi Coast, easily reachable by the nearby bus stop of ferry.

ROOMS

There are two bedrooms with double beds, as well as two sofa beds available to sleep a total of 6 people. Both bedrooms are spacious and bright with large windows that open to petite balconies and views that extend to the stunning Amalfi Coast. Tile floors, plastered walls and beam ceilings are accented by a mix of vintage and contemporary decor.

The main living area is equipped with a kitchen, large sofa, and dining area, once again accented by large windows that allow the fresh breeze to flow through the space.

It is not often one gets to stay in a restored convent, especially with original frescoes dating back to the 17th Century. With an ideal location in the Old Town and easy access to Amalfi Coast, the apartment is a wonderful place to be based!

Located in Historical Downtown Salerno, this apartment building is steps from Museo Roberto Papi and Giardino della Minerva. Salerno Cathedral and Complex of San Pietro a Corte are also within 5 minutes.

Salerno Airport (QSR) is a 28min drive, and Naples Airport (NAP) is a 50 min drive.

NEED TO KNOW

Trotula Charming House is comprised of 2 adjoining apartments, Julius and Olympia Apartments, which are also available to rent individually. Both apartments can accommodate 3 people and start at $175 in low season and $235 in high season.

The apartment is located in the Old Town where there is restricted traffic. Private parking not available, however there is paid parking off premises.

Children up to 2 years stay free, however there are no infant beds available.

There is no elevator and therefore not suitable for those that need assistance.

No smoking. Not suitable for pets. No parties or events.

WORTH CHECKING OUT

The downtown, the old town and the nearby Roma Boulevard and Vittorio Emanuele Boulevard are the centre of city life. The area is filled with cafés, restaurants and shops.
The Amalfi Coast is easily reachable by bus from the close bus stop or by ferry from the “Masuccio Salernitano” Marina. It is possible to organize a daily boat trip along the AMalfi Coast, a touristic flight over the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and the Vesuvius, or even a road trip via a vintage VW Minivan for groups or vintage VW Beatle and Fiat 500 for couples.

There are many incredible hikes and walking trails worth checking out as well.
